It's a feature that is there if you want to use it, but you don't have to. So just don't use it? You never have to see it. I guess Flickr would get less or none annoyed comments about Camera Roll at all when it were placed second under Photostream - there would be no need to open it, when unwished. It also isn't symmetrical to what one sees clicking he icons of other users: there the default landing place is still photostream. I've clicked 'YOU' several times already, wanting to go back to my photostream, and been rather irritated to land in the Camera Roll and to have to click once more to get where I wanted to. I love the Camera Roll very much indeed but I'd rather not have it as the first option under my 'YOU' button where we are used to have the photostream as default. (Hence my (yes, I know, unasked for) advice to acquaint yourself with the Camera Roll.) However, when it is fully fitted out with all the planned functionalities, it will be the only tool for organizing and editing, as then Flickr will remove the Organizer which until then took care of that.
